Remembering Mom....

With what happened yesterday that I shared in the last post, it got me to thinking about my mom and dad.....you see my mom died a week after I got married...actually we were coming home a day early to surprise her on Sunday at breakfast as it was Mother's Day that year and she passed away an hour before our plane landed in Detroit on Saturday morning. My brother was two hours late in picking us up....didn't really think anything about it as he's always late!

I never got to say good-bye to her...even at our wedding she left before I had a chance to talk to her. My mom had congestive heart failure and she should have died weeks before the wedding but she hung on....she said she made a deal with God....she wanted to see me get married again....and she did.

I remember the last conversation I had with her on the Thursday evening on our honeymoon. I made a point to call her ever other day but on that night she didn't want me to go, she was crying and telling me how much she loved me and how beautiful our wedding was and I was so lucky to have meet Bryan. Looking back on it all these years, she must have know she wasn't going to make it until we came home.....I wish I realized it because I had to cut her off as we had dinner reservations and we had to catch the boat to the island.....I told her I would call her Saturday....knowing that instead of calling we were going to go and see her but it didn't work out that way.....so the last time I saw my mom was at my wedding dancing with my dad for the very last time!
How precious is that.....A memory I will always remember!

Here are pictures of my mom in her 30's and my parents wedding picture.....

True love at it's finest!!!

I have a very few piks of my mum around the same era probably, they are precious as so many got destroyed. I think I may have to search them out and compare with yours. lol to you xxxxx
